Let's Talk Candle Care

Like most products, candles also need a little TLC (tender love & care) to ensure optimal burn time and long lasting candle life! So here are some tips to ensure that you get the most out of each of your candle investments...and remain safe in the mean time!!

1.   🖤STRIKING A MATCH FOR THE 1st TIME🖤
When lighting HER for the first time, burn for 2-4 hours until wax melts across the entire surface up to the sides of vessel. PROMISE you won’t regret it! This prevents tunneling & creates an even burn for the LIFETIME of the candle.

2.  🖤KEEP HER CUTE & TRIMMED🖤
We can’t express how IMPORTANT it is to TRIM YOUR WICKS! Trimming your wick before every lighting will help avoid mushrooming which causes extra black soot. (If at any time, soot forms on the inside of the vessel, extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, wipe it with a clean damp cloth. Trim wick and relight.) This also helps to keep the flame at a minimal. Which is a FIRE HAZARD if it gets too large.

3.  🖤KEEP HER CLEAN🖤
Keep the wax pool free of debris, including free of wick trimmings & matches, always! Instead of blowing the flame out, use a candle snuffer. If the wick towers over, straighten it out before re-lighting it to prevent splatters & excess smoking.

4.  🖤KEEP HER AWAY FROM DRAFTS🖤
Drafts can severely decrease burn time, cause HER to burn unevenly, smoke & lessen HER scent throw (smell when lit). When lit, try keeping doors & windows closed & burn in desired space for a little while to maximize the scent throw. Having them open may minimize that!

5.  🖤HOW TO TELL IF YOUR DOING HER RIGHT🖤
She’s not flickering, the wick is upright, no extra smoking or sooting (minimal sooting is inevitable, but proper candle care with keep it that way). If any of this IS happening, & the flame is uncontrollable, the candle is not burning properly. Extinguish it immediately, let it cool, go through the check points listed & try again.

6. 🖤WHEN TO LET HER GO🖤
Because Wax is necessary to burn a candle, discontinue burning HER once there is only about ¼” of wax remaining. This will ensure that you don’t overheat the jar/vessel.

7. 🖤STORE HER🖤
In a cool, dark, DRY space. If it comes with a lid, use it when you aren’t burning HER to protect from dust. Avoid direct sunlight & harsh light to keep the wax solid. You’ve paid GOOD MONEY, so PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT by taking care of Her!

***🖤Optional :: Once candle has burned down & only 1/2' remains, you can remove the remaining wax and use as wax melt in a wax warmer SEE HOW TO REMOVE WAX HERE.
